• Question: could the core of the earth ever blow up or implode?

      Really not the person to ask this question, a geophysicist would know the answer. My guess is probably not unless something very strange happened to the planet.

      No! In a word. There is nothing explosive in the Earth’s core and it’s denser than the crust, or space so it will never implode.

      Volcanoes can be explosive but only when the vents are blocked and pressure builds up underneath them. This is in the Earth’s crust though, not the core.
