      Very unlikely, there is no scientific evidence to suggest this will happen, so don’t be at all scared. It makes for interesting films and chat but we and the planet will be around for many many years to come 🙂

      I do not think there is any reason that anyone should be scared about the year 2012 any more than by any other year. For a more detailed discussion of 2012, please see here.

      I think there are several trends in our society that we have to worry about much more than the supposed end of the Mayan calendar, and I have discussed some of them here.
