Question: lets say i took a genorator up into space with sails on it and spun it would it contnue to generate power or would it stop, (c) to me

I’m unsure on what you mean, if you could put it another way I will try and answer it. But for a generator to work you need one part magnets or the coils of wire to spin while the other is still or spinning in the other direction, so there will still be friction inside on bearings so you might as well go it on earth rather than in space. But there are such things as solar sails these are more of a propulsion system to move away from the sun.
