I am here to engage with students, teachers and other scientists, not “just” for the money (and the money is for science communication, not for the winner personally).

If I managed to increase at least some of the student’s interest in matters of science, the duty part of the mission would be fulfilled, and we can concentrate on the fun part. This consists, of course, of surviving the evictions (which does not cause pride yet) and would in the case of winning certainly include happiness about the prize money, but it also consists of having interactions with students that go beyond their duty part. For instance, in some of the chat sessions, the students were throwing their questions at me in languages other than English, and I certainly enjoyed that (I think you have witnessed it).

I am not really in this event for winning the prize, my main reason is to engage with young people about science and encourage them that it isnt a boring and difficult thing but is exciting, fun and is something that we can use to make the world a better place to live. So if I won then I would feel pride in maybe achieveing this aim.

I would be happy to win obviously! I’ve said before, it’s not all about the money though!
