• Question: Do you always have to wear goggles? If so, is it annoying?

      I am not really in the lab much now as I have a big research team to organise and manage but people in the lab do sometimes have to wear googles, espcially if they are handling a nasty chemical that might damage their eyes if it splashed their face. i don’t think they are that annoying unless you have to wear them for a long time when they might get uncomfortable.

      I always have to wear goggles in the lab. So my eyes are protected from any splashing or violent reactions. My goggles are probably more comfortable than the ones that you might use. They are more like glasses that rap round the side of my head.
      Yes they did use to annoy me but now I’m used to them I now sometimes forget I’m wearing them.

      I don’t have to wear goggles at all, ever! Not all scientists wear lab coats and goggles.

      When I used to wear them at university and school I never really minded, I’d rather be a bit uncomfortable and look a complete idiot than be blind.

      I rarely wore them, and not any more. I guess it is more annoying if your face gets hit by some chemicals that shouldn’t be there.
