No. Jumping on a new topic is usually fascinating, and you learn a whole lot in a short period of time. It is hard to get bored in science, but “really bad” things happen in the form of repeated rejections of research proposals or papers, and once you got too many of these in some particular area, it may be worth considering alternatives, even though you still like the topic. Some scientists also have problems with their supervisors or lab mates, but generally none of these problems seem too severe at the beginning.
