Well one of the machines we are using which lets us look at molecules inside the bodies of living mice and rats was only brought onto the market last year, so its very modern and really quite cool 🙂
Research equipment (including software) usually is a mixture of some high-performance commercial tools and self-made stuff that may range from cutting edge to extremely low tech. So it is for me.
It depends. We have some very modern cameras and recording software because we cannot do without it. However, we also still use video tapes and old crt monitors. (ie the old televisions…not flat screen, big things made of glass!) If they still work, we still use them!
