• Question: What advice would you give a 14 year old who is considering studying medicine in life either finding cures or, being a nurse in the army?

      For this to be answered, you have to find out about your preferences:
      Do you
      -like being with people (nurse, and research too) or animals or cells (much of research)?
      -want to work according to your own schedule (most research) or a schedule defined by others (some research, and much of army stuff)?
      -want to support competition between different nations, and do you want to do it in a rather fair (research) or unfair (army) way?
      -want to have time for your family (bad choice for both research and army)?

      Once you have formed an opinion about that, it is advisable to take a broader perspective, which would include some general ideas of how the world is to change during your life time (see related discussion).
