Question: if you created a deadly disease accidentally, would you tell the world to stop it or keep it a secret so no one could blame you?

  Yes I would certainly tell the world and take the blame rather than be responsible for lots of people dying.

  Part of being a good science is, as I just said, to be precise in reporting what you have done. Honesty is a prerequisite for this, and reporting the danger adequately would be imperative.
