Oh god what a question to answer. Erm well the official line is that yes of course homework is important otherwise you are missing out on a lot of important work towards your education and your exams. But, I know its sometimes boring, especially when there is something good on TV or you want to hang out with your mates. Best thing is get it over and done with to the best of your ability and then go play!

Understanding this is important. You can’t do that just by reading, you have to try working things out for yourself. Some homework is makework, but figuring out how to try things on your own and work through them so you really understand them is essential.

Yes, I think it teaches the ability to motivate yourself to do things when not under direct supervision. When you get to university you’ll find most of the course will be homework, or as you’ll come to call it… “work.”

But never miss a social occasion or a sport or anything like that for it. It’s not THAT important. (Don’t tell any teachers I said that)
