Not sure about the craziiest but I can tell you about the funniest. When I was about 13 my best pal had just got a chemistry set and we took it into his dads shed at the end of the garden. We set up a bunsen burner and started mixing things together and heating them up in a glass beaker, not much happened so I grabbed a bottle of blue liquid from one of the shelves in the shed and poured it into the flask. There was a loud BANG and then flames, we both legged it out of the shed which soon set fire and my pals dad had to call round the fire brigade to out out the fire. I was banned from ever going around my pals house again 🙂

Perhaps this one: cooling an insect larva down to -40°C, taking 3D images of it (such that individual cells and the distribution of water and fat are all visible) and heating it up to room temperature, after which it soon started to crawl again.

I don’t know about craziest, but certainly the best proper science experiment was my masters project at university. I trapped Rubidium and Caesium atoms using lasers and magnets. Sounds cool, is cool!
